It is the same thing, every year. - it's the flu season.
Many of us, are vaccinated - but there is a growing number of those who choose not to be, and that is their personal choice.
Whether or not, this year's Flu, is as bad as the media reports, we'll never know until we get it.
I always like to be prepared. I do not like, getting sick and having to go to the store to buy all of my "stuff". Or having my husband go for you and purchase items I do not want.
Here are some Flu tips and how to be prepared. You may not get it, but you could be the caretaker for your family or your friends'.
- The following items from the grocery would typically be for 1 person and always good to have on hand -
1 lb Table Salt - for making oral re-hydration solution, a gargle and nasal wash.
10 lbs of Table sugar - for making oral re-hydration solution
6 oz. of baking soda - for making oral re-hydration solution and nasal wash
unscented household bleach - cleaning contaminated items
2, 8oz baby bottles with nipples - for administering the re-hydration fluid for the severally ill.
1-2 water bottles with nozzles for administering the re-hydration solution
Measuring spoons from 1/8 tsp to 1 tbsp Measuring cups - 2 cup capacity
50 soda straws
notebook for keeping a medical record of the patient
a tea kettle for steam therapy
Drug Store Items
bath scale for weighing
2 electronic thermometers
blood pressure monitor
diphenhydramine (benedryl) 25mg capsules for flu symptoms
Robitussin DM cough
Loperamide for diarrhea and stomach cramps Meclizine 25 mg.
